2008-09: After great workouts for the San Antonio Spurs in the summer Charles was invited to vet camp where he had a very good showing. Unfortunately he did not secure a spot on the roster and went to the NBDL Austin Toros. There he posted an impressive double double of 15ppg and 10rpg and caught the eye of Israeli powerhouse Maccabi Tel Aviv where he played in both the Euroleague (where he did get a Euroleauge player of the week award) and the Israeli Championship. Maccabi went on to win the title that season.
2007-08: Another great season in Europe saw Charles join Turkish side Galatasaray Cafecrown where he promtply starred on a team with NBA propects Dee Brown and Robert Hite. His relentless work under the basket saw him as one of the league leaders in the rebounds despite having to split minutes with the talented roster of the team. Led the team in scoring and rebounding despite being 3rd in minutes played.
2006-07: Signed with DKV Jovent in the top league ACB Spain also competing in the prestigious Euroleague Championships. Again showed why he is a big time player with his efforts in the Euroleague. Helped his team to a top 16 birth and narrowly missed qualifications to the top 8. While in ACB league play he was second on the team in scoring (11.3ppg) and led his team in rebounding, FG% and blocked shots. Ranked second on the team behind NBA Draft prospect Rudy Fernandez in overall evaluation. Was named Player of the month in the ACB in March when he upped his numbers across the board and averaged 15.4ppg, 10.8rpg, 2.8stlpg and 1blkpg. He finished the regular season ranked 13th overall in the league based on evaluation while being recorded as 4th overall in rebounding, 10th in the league in steals and along with Rudy Fernandez led his Joventut side in almost every major statistical category..
2005-06: Pre-season saw Charles in Indiana Pacers Summer Camp where he led the team in rebounding before moving over to France. Led the team to a ULEB Quarter Final birth and narrowly missed moving on to the semi-finals. Leads the team in the regular season in points and rebounds while sitting comfortably in a play off spot in France ProA.
