Outlook
David ReichelGood size for his position at the Small Forward and Power Forward position at 6’8’’. He is a player that thrives off of mismatches and is a prolific shooter. He has NBA range and can shoot over smaller quicker defenders, and has the quickness and ball handling to blow by bigger defenders. David is able to mix it up in the post and play with his back to the basket with jump hooks and array of fade away moves. On the defensive end he is able to bang with bigger 4 men and stay with smaller 3 guards. His greatest physical asset is shooting threes but his biggest asset is his basketball IQ. He has a deep knowledge of the game, knows when to make the extra pass and when to knock it down himself. He is also an underrated passer. David is known to create close relationships with his teammates. His college coach said “David is one of the best team oriented and most coachable players that have ever come through the Cal State basketball program.” –Jeff Oliver (Cal St San Bernardino- Head Coach)

Career

David Reichel

2011-12: Signed with Basket Esch in Luxembourg.

2010-11:  Decided to take his talents to the European market and sign in Spain for CB Santurtzi. He picked up right where he left off and shot 47% (1st in the league) from the new extended FIBA three point line. He caught the eye of a team in a higher division and was bought out his contract in February and signed with La Laguna Socas Canarias of Leb Gold, considered one the of the top leagues in Europe.  There despite paying handsomely to secure his services the coach elected to use him in a backup insurence type roll and limited his minutes severly.  In fact he did not play over 12min in any one game for the rest of the season.  When given time he could produce like vs Rincon where he was played 9min and scored 4pts grabbing 2 rebs or at the end of the season vs Girona (5/6/11) where 5min on court resulted in 6pts on 2-3 from the 3pt line.  Given an opportunity he would have really showed what he is capable of and he will do that in the future almost certainly!

2009-10:

Signed a Playoff contract in the LNBP Mexico for Abejas de Guanajuato. He led his team with 22 pts on 8-12 FG, 6-9 3Pt against the reigning league champion Halcones Xalapa.
In February signed in Venezuela for Gaiteros del Zulia of the LPB. Again pacing his team against the top teams in the league, 25 pts 5 reb vs Cocodrillos, 22 pts 6reb vs Marinos on the road in front of a hostile home crowd of 8,000+. The league considered David as a top import and invited him to the LPB All-Star Game in Caracas where he demonstrated why he was considered the best shooter in LPB by winning the 3Pt contest.

208-09:

Signed with the Los Angeles Lightning in the IBL for the spring season to stay in shape. Played on an extremely deep NBA roster alongside Lamond Murray, Toby Bailey, Bryon Russell, Fred Vinson and Tyus Edney.
After a camp held in Las Vegas for the Japanese BJ League, David was one of the 5 players selected from the entire camp of 135 players. He signed first professional overseas contract for the Oita Heat devils. In his rookie season, he finished the year as one of the premier shooters in the league by ranking #1 in three point percentage.

2004-08:

played 4 years at Cal State University, San Bernardino on a full scholarship. At Cal State he won three CCAA Conference Championships, an NCAA2 Final Four, became the second  winningest player in school history and broke the All Time School Record for 3 point Percentage (50%).
