2010-11: Selected to the NAIA All America First Team..... led the Pilots in scoring with 18.2 points per game and pulled down 7.9 rebounds a game. He also led the team with quick hands on defense recording a team high 55 steals. He started in all 34 games and scored double-digits in all but two games. He pulled down double-digit boards nine times leading him to a total of eight double-doubles......season game high was 28 points vs Life University while the most rebounds he grabbed during a game was 15. He had 20 or more points in 14 different regular season games this year. Lead the team to the Nation tournamet and into the second round before dropping a closely contested battle to Biola college. Young's list of accolades for the season include: First Team All-America, First Team All-Red River Athletic Conference, RRAC Player of the Week three times, Newcomer of the year in the RRAC, Louisianna Sports writers association 3rd team and Newcomer of the Year.
2009-10: Transferred to LSU and sat out.
2008-09: led the team in scoring and rebounding during his junior season. He poured in 14.4 points and 6.0 rebounds on his way to earning first-team all-conference accolades. Lead the team to a fantastic 30-2 record and claimed the Sooner Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships. RSU was ranked No. 1 in the country for the final seven weeks of the season and made the school's first-ever National Tournament appearance thanks to Young. The Houston native was also named to the SAC all-tournament team and received the tournament's Hustle Award. The first Rogers State player to ever been named All American as he was named to the NAIA All America Second team.
2007-08: First season at Rogers State saw him make an immediate impact posting double figure scoring at 10ppg and chipping in wtih 5rpg on the glass. Fourth on the team in scoring he bolstered an already strong squad and because of his efforts he was named Third team All Sooner Athletic Conference for the season.
2006-07: Transferred and sat out.
2005-06: Played major minutes as a freshman at University of Texas San Antonio and really opened alot of eyes. Was second on the team in scoring at 8.7ppg while recording 4.5rpg which was good for 4th on the squad in rebounds. Was 2nd on the team in blocked shots recording an amazing 36 swats on the season. All this while starting only 16 games on the year of 24 and playing 21mpg. |
