2008-09: Moved over to Haukar where George reunited with his old coach. Immediately put the team in contention for the top of the standings for promotion to go back up to the Express league. Posted a season high 23 rebounds in that league. Also was a consistent force on the offensive end again posting a double double for the season.
2007-08:Stayed with Hamar and again showed his dominance down low. Again one of the top performers in the rebounding charts and posted a double double every game. The team struggled because of financial insecurity but George was a steadying influence all season.
2006-07: Resigned with Hamar/Selfoss and dominated the league once again. Was 2nd in the league in rebounding and ranked in the top 10 in scoring. He lead his team to a playoff semi-final finish. At the conclusion of that season he headed immediately to New Zealand to play for the Manawatu Jets who were in desperate need for a big man to shore up their rebounding woes. George did that immediately posting better than 10rpg and being ranked 2nd in the league.
2006-07: Signed at Hamar/Selfoss in Iceland, after the 4 first games of the league which saw the team at 0-4. George quickly came in and asserted his vet leadership. Immediately turned the teams fortunes around and led them out of the cellar to a playoff birth. In the process led the club to their first ever Icelandic Cup Finals narrowly loosing in the finals. Again George posted great numbers and was able to record an infamous triple double during the course of the season with 13pts, 11rebs and 12 assists vs Tindastol Feb 8/07. Named Eurobasket 1st team All-Iceland, Eurobasket All-Imports and Eurobasket Center of the Year. Moved to New Zealand at the conclusion of the season where he joined Inspire Manawatu Jets. Posted again a double double with 10.5ppg and 10.5rpg, which was good for second in the league. Also was second in the league in blocks with 1.5 swats per game.
2005-06: Started the season in Portugal but moved back to his club in Iceland. Voted #3 in MVP of the league balloting while again leading the league in rebounding with an amazing 16.5rpg! An improvement from last seasons final number. Posted 4 games of 20+ rebounds while improving his assists to more than 3apg. Moved into the playoffs and raised his scoring average to just shy of 20ppg while raising his rebounding as well to over 17rpg. Brought the team to the Championship round before finally losing to this years' champs. Named Center of the Year in Iceland and also named 2nd team All Iceland. Moved into ProB France with Quimper where he was a medical replacement for 6 weeks. George played a strong role for them with about 22mpg where he posts an impressive 9ppg and 7.5rpg in this limited action.
2004-05: Started with Harlem of the ABA but the team fell into financial turmoil and he left. Landed in Iceland where he led the team in rebounding, block shots and FG%. Led the league in rebounding with an amazing 16.2rpg. Top 5 in the league in FG% with 65%. Had 3 consecutive games of 20+ppg and 20+rpg.
Fort Meyers Dragons - USBL 2003-04: Played the summer with the Fort Meyers Dragon and then played a season of semi pro football!
Unisanta, Brazil Div1 2001: Returned to his first team Unisanta and led them to the play-offs while leading the league in rebounding. |
