2009-10: Stepped into the starting lineup with Wellington in his home country and immediately showed his form. Dished out a season high 15 assists to go along with 19pts 5/29/2010. Scored a season high 25pts in a win over Taranaki (5/30/10). Lindsay finished the season as the LEAGUE MVP and was named the most outstanding guard in the competition. Moreover he lead his team to the league championship in a 2-1 margin in the best of 3 games vs Waikato. Watch the championship game now above.
2008-09: Returned to Wollongong and played a major role for them in a very strong backcourt rotation. Only played 20mpg but warranted more each game. Anytime he did get minutes he showed what he is capable of in that very competitive league. Scored a season high 20pts vs the Sydney Spirit on 12/27/08 to go along with 5ass and a perfect 7-7 from the charity stripe. Dished out a season high 6 assists vs the Gold Coast Blaze on 12/17/08. Had a very complete game of 11pts, 5rebs, 4 assists and 5 steals against top of the table Melbourne Dragons on 12/6/08. Narrowly missed the top 6 in league play. At the conclusion of the season Lindsay returned to the Wellington Saints in the NZBL.
2007-08: Signed with Wollongong Hawks of the Australian NBL. Posted career highs with them of 12ppg, 4.5apg and 3.3 stls per game before a shoulder injury forced him into surgery and a premature end to his season. He rehabbed his shoulder in the off season and returned to 100% right before the end of the New Zealand Basketball League. He returned in time to help the Wellington Saints secure their first place and home advantage going into the playoffs. His play bodes well for his return to the Australian league the next season with Wollongong again.
2006-07: Signed with Boncourt in Switzerland LNA. For the first time in that club's history they experienced some financial insecurity. At the end of the day they paid all their players but Lindsay elected to leave early. During his time there he was a major contributor to the team averaging more than 10ppg and dishing 2.2apg in the LNA. Leaving there gave him time to prepare again for the New Zealand season and he showed again his dominance in that league by averaging 24ppg and coming in second for the race for the scoring title. Auckland had problems this season as their two foreign players got up and left the team but Lindsay stepped up and took command of his team offensively to continue to pace them to a top 5 finish just outside the top4. Also was 3rd in assists on the season and 7th in steals. Another great season for him.
2006: An small wrist injury ended Lindsays' season prematurely as he was on schedule to probably win ANOTHER league MVP in New Zealand with the Auckland Stars where they were on a quest for their 10th Championship, while he was personally after his 4th championship. He was leading the team in scoring (and 5th in the league), assists (4th in league), steals (8th in league), 3pt attempts, 3pt conversions and minutes. Again re-establishing the fact that he was MVP of the year last season and making a bid to pick up the same trophy this season. Losing a league MVP is not easy on any team and the Stars battled courageously but his loss was felt and the Stars lost in the NZBL Championship game. He had led the team in scoring only 3 times this season showing his consistency as he lead them overall season scoring at 21ppg.
2005-06:
A solid effort with the Breakers in the Australian top league saw Lindsays' development in all statistical areas. Improved in every statistical category and had some dominating performances. Splitting time at the PG spot with fellow national team player Paul Henare, Lindsay put his mark on the Australian NBL for seasons to come showing that he will be a highly sought after player. Posted a season high in points vs Brisbane Bullets on Nov 6/05 with 18pts to go along with 3 rebs on 2-4 3pt shooting. Had a solid 17pt, 4assist, 3reb night with 4/4 3pt shooting against the Sydney Kings the very next game on Nov 12/06. Dished out a season high 6 assists in an astonishing 18 minutes Dec18/05 vs the Wollongong Hawks. Early in the season snatched a season high 6 rebs to go along with 14pts and 4 assists during a great performance also against the Hawks Oct 9/2005.
2005: Lead the Auckland Stars to their ninth NZ NBL Championship in the off-season (not to mention capturing individual honours as the 2005 NZ NBL league MVP and Guard of the Year awards). Distinguished himself as the very best guard in New Zealand while posting 20.9ppg (good for second in the league). Completely dominant at the backcourt spot. Named for the third time as a member of the All-Star Five. Personally captured his 3rd New Zealand championship. Shot a fantastic 44% from behind the 3 pt arc for the entire season.2004-05: Another strong season in the highly competitive Australian NBL with the NZ Breakers saw Lindsey come into his own. Playing in a partnership role out of the PG spot Lindsey showed great poise and improvement for a young player in a demanding league. Showed his deep range by connecting just under 40% from beyond the 3pt line. 2004: Another fantastic season in the New Zealand NZBL saw Lindsay capture his 2nd Championship while being named as the League' s Most Outstanding Guard, named to the league All-star team and was runner up in the MVP voting. Statistically turned in another illuminating season scoring 21.1ppg (good fpr 4th in the league). Pushed his season average for assists up to 7apg during the playoffs to ensure his team to would capture the coveted title. |
