Outlook
USC V Oregon X JohnsonA very active athletic body.  Has the ability to score big down low and has great footwork in the low post.  Rebounds the ball VERY well at both ends of the floor and can collect points on his own through offensive put back opportunities.  Challenges all shots in the lane and shuts down the interior on the defensive end.  Makes a great defensive anchor for any team.  Able to guard bigger players in the post with his strength.  Sees the floor very well and consistently averages more than 2apg.  Works well in the pick and roll and is an imposing screen setter.  Has range out to 15 ft and looks for that mid range jumper at the high post.  Overall a very good interior player with above average passing skills.

SCOUTING

Rob won the John Warren Award after his senior season at Oregon named for the team's most inspirational player.

Career

Robert Johnson shoots2009-10: Signed with Tijloa of LEB Silver in Spain.

2008-09: Signed with Cornella in LEB Silver and had to adjust his game to fit with the other personalities on the team.  Playing alongside the little brother of Cheike Samb (Nuggest), Rob was called upon to do the 'dirty work' and clean up the glass, getting his points in the trenches and on offensive put backs.  Always the ironman Robert was the only memeber of the team to play in all games for the season. Still showed his great individual skills by recording 5 double doubles on the season despite averaging only 26 minutes on a very balanced team.  Lead the team storming through the first round of the playoffs 3-0 vs Vigo, to the LEB Silver Final Four.

2007-08: Signed with Rayet Guadalajara in Spain.  Quickly established himself as the premiere big man in the league.  Was among the league leaders in rebounding (12.9rpg), blocked shots and steals.  Transformed the team from an average team to a real contender for the league championship.  Took them to the final four for the possibility of promotion to the LEB Silver division.  Was a double double almost every night with games like 29pts, 13rebs, 2stls, 2 blks, 2 ass as he did against Tijola looking routine.

2006-07: Signed at Geneva Devils in Switzerland.  And led the team everyway you can.  Although he was only 5th on the team in scoring, he was one of the most complete players in the league as witnessed by the fact he led the league in rebounding (10.6rpg), led his team and was 9th in the league in steals (2.3stlspg), led the league in blocked shots (2.3blkpg), led his team and was 8th in the league in overall evaluation recognizing the fact that he was one of the best overall players during the course of this season.  Took his team to the semi-finals of the Swiss cup before losing to eventual champions and league powerhouse Fribourg Olympic.  Also took the team to the league semi-finals before again losing to Fribourg.  For his efforts he was recognized this season by being named the Eurobasket Defensive player of the year.

2005-06:

Signed to start the season in ProB France but at the second practice SEVERELY sprained his ankle.  After rehabbing joined the Mexican league in January to solidify Nogales,....posted 26pts and 17rebs in his first game.....averaged just under 19ppg without getting more than 11shots per game.....left the team to join SPU Nitra for their playoff run in Slovakia.....grabbed a season high and team high 17rebs to go along 3blks and 10pts in a 1st round playoff victory vs AC LB Spišská Nová Ves on 5/4/06.

Helsingborg - Sweden Basketligan

2004-05:

Led his team in rebounding and was 2nd in the league with 11.7 boards per game.  2nd on the team in scoring at 15.22ppg which was also good for 16th in the league.  1st on his team in blocks with 31 which was good for 9th in the league.  1st on his team in steals placing him 16th in the league.  Had to do everything on this team.  Posted career high rebounding and scoring numbers.

Worthersee Piraten - Austria Bundesliga

2003-04:

Played for the first division squad in Austria helping them to quarter finals finish and a 4th place finish in the regular season.

University of Oregon, NCAA Div1

2002-03:

Part of a high profile team featuring NBA players Luke Ridnour and Luke Jackson.  Started at center and was second on the team in rebounding posting 6.5rpg on a top 25 team in the NCAA.  Had two big games to help Oregon capture the 2003-04 Pac-10 title as they advanced into the NCAA tournament.  Was named the defensive player of the year.  Arguably was Oregon's first power rebounder averaging nearly 8rpg in his 68 game career at Oregon.  During that time the team went 49-19 and he NEVER missed a game.
