COACH JASON DOURISSEAU

Title: Head Coach

Team: Donar Grongingen, Holland 2024 - present

Jason Dourisseau took the coaching reins of Donar Groningen on December 3, 2024, after the club parted ways with Andrej Štimac making him a head coach in his first season as a bench coach.

Eight days later Dourisseau posted his first win in the ENBL, defeating Spartak Pleven, 87-84, at the martiniplaza, while playing without star center James Karnik.  Because of the team's slow start prior to Dourisseau taking over, Groningen lost the next two games and did not qualify for the 2025 ENBL playoffs.

Meanwhile within the Dutch domestic league, Dourisseau pushed his team to success qualifying for the Dutch Cup finals before falling in the championship game. Donar also qualified and won the Dutch quarterfinal series against Den Helder, 2-0, before falling at the semifinal series against top seeded Heroes Den Bosch, 0-3 whom went on to win the league championship.

With that successful end of season run Dourisseau returned to the position of head coach for the 2025/26 season and to the ENBL where, despite loosing the first game he directed the team to a series of wins finishing the regular season 5-3 and landing a matchup in the new year with German Cup winner SYNTAINICS MBC.  A terrific battle ensued with MBC capturing the win 106-104.  But his fantastic leadership did not go unnoticed as he was named the 2026 European North Basketball League Coach of the Year.

On the domestic front Dourisseau had unfinished business and he coached his team to a second consecutive cup final in the 2026 Dutch Cup by defeating on the defending champions Heroes Den Bosch in the semi-finals.  He then coached the team to a successful final, winning the 2026 Dutch Cup by defeating Landstede Hammers, to achieve the first hardware of his coaching career.

Currently Coach Dourisseau has Donar in the Dutch semi-finals up 2-1.
